I am Maria – I believe in God, love my family, and enjoy music in many forms. Currently, the specter of cancer is hanging over me. But most of the time, I am peaceful because the Lord “surrounds me with songs of deliverance” and”whenever I feel afraid I will trust in Him.”
“Noticias por María” – means “News by Maria”. [Noticias] is not just news about my life, but whatever I write about is delivered with my opinions included. I am not a professional journalist. The title is in Spanish because my Dad is from Ecuador.

Maria: Since you are obviously an accomplished musician, maybe you can help me find out a little more about one of my favorite ‘Christmas Carols.” It is from an album put out in 1968 maybe? by RCA. The album is called “Christmas in the Air” and the song is I guess an old African American spiritual called ‘Wonderful Counsellor”. I just love it. The lyrics go something like “Tell me who do you call the wonderful counsellor? OH OH OH OH Glory Alleluia? OH OH OH OH Glory Alleluia! OH OH OH OH Glory Alleluia! Glory Alleluia to the new born king. Oh I Call Jesus the wonderful Counsellor” and that is all I can remember.
Beautiful photo of Blackhedge farm. I sure do know why you miss it so much. Thanks for sharing your time in England and the let down upon your return. I am using your experience to wisely remind myself how lucky I am to be having such an amazing experience. I am actually trying to think of a way to maybe find a teaching position here in England that will pay for two students to go to Stamford so that Gen can finish out Year 13 and Lillie can finish at least year 8. I may have to bite the bullet and go back to school to get my British teaching degree–UUURRGGHHHH! No more school please my memory can’t take it.
